Miss Michelle Harper L.I.S.T.D
Principal

Ambitions Dance Centre is staffed by friendly and professional dance teachers, well equipped to provide first class dance training to children of all ages. 

Michelle started dancing at the age of 4 at the Beryl Martin School of Dancing in Chester, and at aged 16 she went on to full time training at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool where she studied all forms of dance plus singing, drama and stagecraft.

Whilst there, she gained Advanced level performing exams in I.S.T.D. Ballet, Tap, Modern and National. She achieved her Associate Teaching Qualifications in all 4 subjects and also her Anatomy and Physiology and History of Dance papers.

After she graduated, she went to work at the Central School of Dancing in Norwich for 2 years where she gained valuable teaching experience in exam, competition and theatre work.

Michelle moved back to North Wales in 1995 and began teaching in various schools around  North Wales including The Holyhead School of Dance in Anglesey, Mersyside Dance & Drama Centre Juniors Welsh branch in Porthmadog and The Whitton Morris School of dancing in Holywell.

In September 1999 Michelle opened Ambitions Dance Centre and she is very proud to say that after starting with only 5 pupils she now has over 120 pupils in the school.

Michelle continued her training part time whilst teaching and gained 2 further teaching qualifications with the I.S.T.D Associate Diploma and Licenciate.

Since having her son Josh in 2007 Michelle has continued to run the school maintaining the high standard it has always had.

Michelle in incredibly proud of all the pupils at Ambitions past and present and feels that the warm welcoming atmosphere gives pupils not only excellent training but a secure and happy environment that they thorougly enjoy spending time in.

Miss Caroline Firth

Caroline trained at The Whitton Morris School of Dance in Holywell from the age of 4 to 17. Whilst she was there she gained exams in B.B.O Ballet up to Advanced 1, I.S.T.D Modern up to Advanced 2, Tap, Jazz, National and Musical Theatre. 

She took part time in many festivals and competitions throughout the years and won The Junior Welsh Ballet Champion in 2001.

At the age of 17 she was awarded a 3 year scholarship to Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom where she graduated with a National Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance (Distinction). Whilst training she took her L.A.M.D.A acting exams, I.S.T.D and R.A.D Ballet Exams at Advanced 1 level and also did her units in I.S.T.D Ballet Teaching. After gaining part of her teaching qualification she taught I.S.T.D. Ballet at the junior sector of Laine Theatre Arts.

After graduating, her first job was doing Pantomime in Llandudno with QDOS 'Peter Pan' as a singer/dancer/understudy tinker bell.

Since then Caroline has had 2 contracts with Carnival Cruise Ships touring America as a singer/dancer and has done modelling work for  L'oreal hair.

She has extended her teaching qualifications by studying for her Level 4 teaching in the B.B.O. Syllabus. Caroline won Miss Flintshire in 2011 and was also a 2011 Miss Wales Finalist. She started teaching at Ambitions in September 2010 and we are pleased that she can bring her experience of the professional dance world to the school. She is currently the deputy principal of the school.

Miss Amanda Smith


Amanda was formally a pupil of Ambitions Dance Centre where she studied and passed A-Level - Performing Arts focused on Dance.

In 2008 Amanda went to Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and she has just graduated with a BA (Hons) Dance Degree.

Whilst at University Amanda assisted at ambitions and taught Street Dance in various schools. She was involved in the Midsummer Watch-Chester Parade with a group of youngsters who were dancing in the parade.

She has also been teaching contemporary workshops to A-Level students and creative dance to Secondary School students.

Amanda recently furthered her I.S.T.D teaching qualifications at North Liverpool Dance Academy. After running the Street Dance classes for many years at Ambitions and is currently teaching our Ballet, Tap and Modern classes on Fridays and Saturday along with Miss Michelle and Miss Caroline.

Miss Rachel Noble
Rachel began her performing arts training from a very young age with violin, singing, dance and drama classes. Through her younger years she performed in the Royal Festival hall and competed in music and dance festivals and competitions.

She furthered her training with The Whitton-Morris School of dance in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Musical Theatre gaining B.B.O and I.S.T.D dance qualifications. 

Her musicality has fortunately taken her over to Europe on tour with The Flintshire Youth Orchestra and performances for The Prince of Wales. She has performed with many theatre companies in theatres in London and across the North West and has also had the opportunity to stage manage and direct several projects.

Rachel completed further drama training with an A level in theatre and attended Glyndwr university to study theatre, television and performance. Fully trained by The National Youth Theatre, she has been a part of projects and performances including the Olympics Welcome ceremony 2012 and worked in a professional level appearing on TV, working with a professional casting agency and extremely experienced in the audition technique.

Rachel furthers her love for performing arts and directing by working with young performers to help them to act, sing and create theatre and is overjoyed by the excitement and passion the students at Ambitions Dance centre have.

Rachel is currently head of Drama and Singing at Ambitions and teaches some of the Ballet, Tap and Modern classes. We are pleased that Rachell will also be taking over the running of the Street Dance in the school.
